Located at the far end of the lobby, the former sports bar is transformed into Tokimeku, an Asian restaurant conceived as an immersive journey into the atmosphere of Japanese street markets and food culture. From the entrance, the design introduces a more vibrant and theatrical world, where culinary energy, crafted detail and a sense of discovery come together without losing the comfort and refinement expected within the hotel.
A theatrical Asian restaurant where show-cooking counters bring the energy of a street market into a refined and comfortable dining setting.
The first area is articulated through a sequence of counters and show-cooking stations, designed as small gastronomic stalls that bring the experience closer to the guest. Their composition, display elements and decorative references evoke the imagery of Japanese markets, enriched by raw finishes, lanterns, layered shelving and the blue and red accents that define Tokimeku’s visual identity.
Beyond this threshold, the restaurant expands into a generous double-height volume where the seating areas unfold beneath a warmer and more enveloping atmosphere. Woven wallcoverings and textured surfaces introduce a subtle reference to Japanese interiors, while the upper walls are dressed with hand-painted canvases inspired by shadow theatre, adding depth, movement, and a delicate narrative layer to the space. Suspended lighting and ginkgo trees help bring the scale down, creating the feeling of dining within a stylised urban landscape.
The experience continues outdoors through a small terrace, accessed directly from the exterior, marked by a large golden door that acts almost as a portal into another world. Here, vegetation becomes both atmosphere and filter, softening the relationship with the surrounding areas of the hotel, while the paving recalls the earthy tones and crafted irregularity of traditional Japanese ceramics.
Together, interior and terrace shape a restaurant that feels expressive, transportive and deeply connected to the ritual of dining.
Beneath ginkgo trees, lanterns and hand-painted shadows, Tokimeku becomes a sensory journey shaped by the imagery and rituals of Japan.
