One of the largest areas in The Plaza Doha is the hotel’s all-day dining area for the hotel, an approximately 1,000 sqm F&B outlet. Given its importance within the programme, the restaurant has been placed in the cortile, at the centre of the project. From here, it acts as a connector for the different activities, views and uses throughout the building. Therefore, one of the biggest challenges was to develop a high-traffic restaurant layout that allows multiple crossing flows.
The layout was configured to create a variety of settings, capable of hosting a wide range of meals and encounters, while always giving prominence to the architecture of the building. The furniture adopts a classic language, in harmony with both the hotel and its context, using neutral tones to seamlessly integrate into the space without competing with its architectural character.
To reinforce the idea of an outdoor environment, the design incorporates abundant large-scale vegetation, which also helps to bring the space down to a more human scale. This greenery becomes a key feature within the space, forming an artful backdrop to the piano. Positioned at the heart of the courtyard, the piano becomes a focal point around which the experience unfolds.
