INNSiDE is the urban hotel brand of Meliá, the Spanish hotel operator. This project marks the brand’s first opening in the Middle East and, together with the upcoming ME Doha, represents Meliá’s return to the Qatari market. The hotel will feature 192 rooms, a signature restaurant, a business centre, a fitness centre with spa, and a rooftop terrace with pool deck, as well as a club F&B concept located on the 13th floor.
Beyond the use of calacatta marble and warm wood, both signature elements of INNSiDE, the project is conceptually rooted in two elements drawn from Arabic culture: the veil and the lattice. The veil introduces a soft, flowing quality, while the lattice is reinterpreted through a geometric and abstract language derived from organic forms. Throughout the project, both elements are explored as complementary layers, balancing softness and geometry, openness and enclosure.
The material and colour palette is defined by a controlled contrast of black and white, enriched with accents of mustard yellow. Textured vinyl wall coverings and cement-based finishes add depth and reinforce the project’s urban, contemporary and youthful character.
Orthogonal shapes, drawn from the contemporary character of the brand, are integrated as framing devices. These elements shape furniture, define suspended features such as bar installations, and dissolve into the architecture, carving into the massiveness of the walls and enhancing spatial depth.
The lobby as a key experiential space, bringing the brand’s lifestyle identity to the forefront. A large merchandising display wall becomes a focal point, reinforcing the lifestyle positioning of the brand. Carefully curated furniture and the presence of a motorcycle at the entrance, a subtle yet recognisable motif, introduce a bold, youthful attitude that enhances the project’s urban character.
The result is a dynamic yet inviting environment, designed to be lived in, where brand identity, local references, and urban energy come together in a recognisable expression of INNSiDE.
